Gunman in Virginia Tech Campus, High Alert, Virginia Tech in Lockdown

Virginia Tech has issued an alert that someone with a gun could be on campus and asked the community to stay inside and secure the doors. However, an initial search has ended up empty. Here is the message posted on Virginia Tech’s home page Virginia Tech’s home page “Person with a gun reported near Dietrick. Stay Inside. Secure doors. Emergency personnel responding. Call 911 for help.”
Virginia Tech campus is thus on lockdown, Thursday morning. The police also received reports of a gunman sighting. The Three children, who were attending summer camp, reported seeing a man carrying a gun hidden by a cloth, running toward the volleyball courts. Therefore the university has issued an alert on its website at 9:37 a.m. saying students and faculty members to stay inside and secure doors and call 911. But after more than an hour, precise details were still scarce. “At this point no one has been able to confirm whether or not there was an actual gun on campus,” said Blacksburg Police Department spokesman Lt. Steve Taylor.
As you might know, in year 2007 also, Virginia Tech has faced the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history when a gunman shot and killed 33 people.
