Sky Cross World Cup : Nick Zoricic died

A skier named Nick Zoricic has died today after crashing during the World Cup skicross event. The Canadian racer Nick Zoricic (29-year-old) smashed straight into the safety nets lining the side of the course and died due to head injuries on the spot.

The images on the TV showed him falling through the nets. As seen on the Television his body was left on the snow and the spectators and television viewers were in horror. According to the International Ski Federation the cause of his death was ‘severe neurotrauma.’
The organisers have cancelled today's remaining World Cup events along with the World Cup Finals races at the same venue tomorrow. Nick Zoricic was eighth in the 2011 World Championships at Deer Valley, Utah. And he is the second Canadian skier to die this season
