Reno Race Crash | Nevada air race

A World War II-period fighter plane flown by a expert Hollywood stunt pilot plunged into the edge of the grandstands during a popular air race {Reno Air Races}. In this accident three people died, more than 50 spectators injured and all this created a dreadful scene spread with smoking fragments. The plane as said earlier was flown by 74-year-old Jimmy Leeward. He was an expert Hollywood stunt pilot. The plane spiralled out of control without giving a clue of warning and appeared to fall apart upon impact. Bodies were spread across the whole area and people became the victims and many ambulances were seen rushing in some moments after the accident took place. Investigation is still going on, but an official regarding the event said that there some mechanical problems were to blame.

The pilot Jimmy Leeward was on his third lap of the race when he lost control and this terrible accident took place. She was sitting about 30 yards from the crash and watched in horror as the man in front of her started bleeding after debris hit him in the head. Maureen Higgins (a spectator) was sitting about 30 yards from that crash and watched how a man in front of her started bleeding after some debris hit him in the head. “I saw body parts and gore like you wouldn’t believe it. I’m talking an arm, a leg,” Higgins said “The alive people were missing body parts. I am not kidding you. It was gore. Unbelievable gore.” Her words speak how terrible that accident was.
