All of
you might have seen the terrifying bulletin yesterday: a powerful earthquake
had struck off the coast of this Central American country, spawning a tsunami
warning and bringing fears of widespread catastrophe.
Costa
Rica seems to have suffered a very little damage from that earth quake of
magnitude magnitude-7.6. What were the damages, let’s see, some highways were
blocked, some houses were collapsed and one person died (due to heart attack
caused by fear).
According
to U.S. Geological Survey that quake was centered about 38 miles from the town
of Liberia and 87 miles west of the capital, San Jose. Also this must be
noted that the quake was followed by three strong aftershocks having magnitudes
more than 4.
