The USC Trojans fired coach Lane Kiffin after
dropping to 3-2 after a blowout loss at Arizona State.Trojans athletic director Pat Haden broke the
news to Kiffin after the team's charter-flight arrival back in Los Angeles
early Sunday morning following the 62-41 loss in Tempe, the school said in a
statement on its website.Trojans assistant head coach Ed Orgeron will be interim
coach.USC has lost 7 games out of 11 in its and its first two in Pac-12 play
this season.The overall record of Kiffin at USC was 28-15.
Haden will hold a news conference at USC on Sunday 4pm. According
to the Los Angeles Daily News, Haden met with advisers Saturday during a 28-0
Arizona State run in the third quarter, and that's when it was decided to
dismiss Kiffin.Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is probably
to emerge as a candidate to replace Kiffin.
